Aglianico, (“alli-yawn-nico”) is a full-bodied, Italian, red wine which is a rare find in California.  Young Aglianico wines are known for strikingly savory flavors of leather, white pepper, black fruits and cured meat that when aged, develop soft dusty aromas of dried figs and sun-tanned leather. The time softens the wines firm tannic structure and enamel-removing acidity revealing lush layers of sweetened fruit and dried floral aromas intermixed with dusty and spiced smoke savory flavors.

For those of us who are a fan of rustic, earth-driven wines, Aglianico is a star. Here at Paradise Acres, Aglianico has flourished and is ready to meet its maker for a grand wine or a product to blend. Either way, it’s award winning.

The traditional opening season walk through of the avenues was both a relief as we have no weather damage and astounding how nature brings the storms but provides the where for all and strength to persevere through. The Aglianico vines are ready to produce for 2023.

 

Cheers Everyone!  2023 is finally here.  Season is OPEN.  We hope everyone has been safe during the high water and stormy weather events California has experienced.  Fortunately we are high ground and so far, so good.
