Often described as elusive and mysterious, Sagrantino is available by only a handful of producers.  A rare red Italian, it’s recently been noted to contain some of the highest poly phenol (antioxidants) levels of any red wine.  Here at Paradise Acres, we have successfully produced this intensely colored grape.

Sagrantino is a dark and dense Italian red wine.  Its fruit profile ranges from black cherries to ripe blackberry, with many secondary spicy and earthy characteristics.  A certain smokiness is sometimes noted in some examples, while sappy pine flavors have been observed in others.   Sagrantino’s  tannins are more sweet than austere and modern examples can be quite approachable in their youth.  It is typically a wine that is both sweet and savory.

Here at Paradise Acres, Sagrantio has flourished and is ready to meet its maker.   As the barrels turn, age, and are tasted, we know this grape is able to produce a grand wine or a product for wine blending. Either way, it can be award winning.  Just ask the vines!

Orders are Now Open for our 2024 Sagrantino grapes. 

End of 2023 Season Update:  Another season closed and boy it was good!  Sagrantino developed perfectly, harvest went excellent, and the season is closed!  This was a plentiful year with 5.1 tons delivered at about 24-25 Brix.  Just right.  Thank you everyone who has participated and supported our boutique vineyard.  Online orders for 2024 will be available about mid-November 2023.  Check back soon.

The more you buy, the less you pay! Purchases are time stamped and filled in the order received until every last grape is sold. We are estimating 4.5 – 5.5 tons, maybe 6. So order up now, pick your harvest date later, and send your bins on over at harvest time.  Cheers to 2023!

it’s time to pack up the tools, machines, and let the vines go dormant.  Rocky Balboa will take a few more trips through the avenues before the winter storms arrive and sing lullabies and let the vines slumber off into deep sleep until next year.
